We are Elias and Iris, a Ugandan-Dutch married couple. We have son named Elai Zephaniah, who was born last year July. We share together our hearts for children and that brought us together a few years ago. We currently live in Soroti, Uganda.
Elias has a vast experience of working with vulnerable children/people in Teso subregion and a part of Karamoja in Uganda. He worked for several organisations after he completed his studies as a social worker/public health worker.
Iris decided to follow a discipelship trainingsschool with Youth With A Mission in South Africa, followed by the Children Risk School at the same place. After completing the school in South-Africa, she came for her internship at the children’s home to Soroti where she met Elias. After working and living in several local communities all over Uganda, sharing the gospel, she settled back with Elias in Soroti.
We worked together at a children’s home in Soroti for several years. We have been ready for a new challenge to support children in a different way and that’s how CCA came on our path. We are looking forward to work together to make a change in the lives of children. We believe in empowering communities through educating children who we believe have the potential to make a difference in life. Our hope in Jesus inspires us to do better for these children every day. We live by the saying: ‘’once you have a heart for children, you can never stop helping them achieve their dreams.’’
