Today 3 enthusiastic women from Kaabong started their training in baking and
entrepreneurship with Bake it Smart and Simple (BISS). After 6 weeks of
training and a 1-week internship, Sarah, Ruth, and Norah will start their own
bakery together. This means Kaabong will have its first-ever supply of fresh
and locally produced bread! Apart from bread, the bakery will produce other
products, such as cookies, cakes and doughnuts.
Christmas greeting CCA!
On behalf of 3 local partner organizations, 30+ volunteers and all sponsored children in Uganda, we wish you a merry christmas and a happy and healthy 2022!
Simon’s surgery!
One of CCA’s focus areas is the care for children with disabilities. The children visit CoRSU hospital in Entebbe, a hospital specialized in the treatment of children with disabilities. Today we share with you the story of 14-year-old Simon.
Story of Lokope Aron
The living conditions of children with disabilities are particularly difficult in Karamoja. These children are often neglected and do not get the chance to discover their talents and realize their dreams. Lokope came into the picture at CCA at the age of 3. He was born with a club foot and a stump. But now, after a year of treatments, he can walk!
Story of Margaret
Only 11% of all girls in Karamoja finish primary school. Instead of going to school, girls are married off, sometimes as early as 13 or 14 years of age. Every year many girls manage to escape marriage, circumcision, child trafficking and child labour. Education is their only chance to escape poverty and build a better future.
